About the Role

Plan, conduct and supervise all department testing for a specific site. Provide technical and administrative supervision to assure that the technical, administrative, schedule and budget goals for the department are achieved.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and administrative direction to the department staff.
  • Interact with customers and Program Managers for technical support and review of test results.
  • Troubleshoot escalated testing issues.
  • Work with department staff to run complex tests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Core Requirements
  • Manage coordination of department activities, including costs, methods and staffing.
  • Complete advanced technical and mechanical procedures that are not standardized or prescribed.
  • Analyze situations or data requiring evaluation with understanding of processes; advanced interpretation and analysis of test results; act as an advisor to meet schedules and resolve technical problems.
  • Lead cooperative efforts among members of a project team; frequently interact with supervisors, customers, and peer group managers.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering principles and data interpretation, Dynamics testing & troubleshooting, Electrical and Mechanical principles; strong knowledge of safety.

Strong management skills, mathematical skills, and mastery of all standard and complex Ballistics equipment. Proficient MS Office skills; understanding of AC/DC circuits.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • BS in Engineering.
  • 10–15 years in a related field, with 5+ years in a management role.
Working Conditions

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises. Physical requirements include occasionally standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking or hearing, tasting or smelling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
