Specialist, Environmental Health & Safety Engineer at L3

Location:
Camden, Arkansas.
Job Schedule:
4/10 — employees work 10 hour days, 4 days a week. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Primary focus is to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS. The role assists in duties including sampling, observations, training, and inspections.
Collaborates with stakeholders during space planning, building expansions, and other facility changes to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met. Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective actions. Supports monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
- Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of the job area.
- Under moderate supervision, helps set objectives for own job area.
- Communicates with internal and external contacts to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures; identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related EHS experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related EHS experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related EHS experience.
- Experience with OSHA 1910 General Industry.
- Experience with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry.
- Strong knowledge of standards including OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI; familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Aerospace experience preferred.
