Handy Tube Corporation is a seamless specialty tubing manufacturer based in Camden, Delaware. Position

We are looking for Machine Operators to produce world‑class tube products for HTC using safe machine operating techniques and lean manufacturing principles. Machine Operators convert steel coils into a workable form, clean the coils, and create the desired diameter and length using continuous or semi‑continuous production equipment. They also cut coils, prepare finished products for shipment, and work closely with shift supervisors to deliver high quality products safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety as the top priority for all employees.
  • Follow safety processes and equipment operation procedures.
  • Stay alert to lifting, pushing, or pulling activities that could cause injury.
  • Set up machines, observe operation, and inspect first run and sample work pieces to ensure machining meets specifications.
  • Read job order for product and quality specifications.
  • Adjust equipment speeds and feed rates to meet production requirements.
  • Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct equipment audits to ensure quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Assist other operators in setting up machines and transporting finished work.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Cross‑train on additional manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Participate effectively as part of the team and communicate respectfully.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and lean activities as directed.
  • Adhere to all time and attendance policies.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor or Group Leader.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience (tubed products preferred).
  • Proficiency with standard tools and measurement devices such as micrometers, scales, rulers, depth gauges, and calipers.
  • Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, quality specifications, and related documents.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Good close vision and depth perception.
  • Positive attitude and excellent time management.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
