Program Instructor – Greater Philadelphia YMCA
Join the Greater Philadelphia YMCA as part‑time Program Instructor for our Watershed Education by Bike (WEB) program.
OverviewWEB is a groundbreaking after‑school program that teaches youth how to safely ride bicycles in urban, suburban, and trail environments while delivering watershed and environmental education. Instructors lead a 13‑student group of grades 5–8 on program‑owned bicycles throughout Camden and Burlington Counties and prepare and implement watershed lessons for K–8 students in a classroom setting.

- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- Available Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
- Experience or interest in physical activity and environmental education.
- Willing to travel throughout Camden City, Burlington County, and Camden County.
- Basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics and able to ride 8–12 mph.
- Strong classroom management, conflict resolution, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks independently.
- Teach basic bicycle safety and maintenance.
- Teach watershed and environmental education through program curriculum.
- Establish relationships with local partners to support WEB.
- Facilitate environmental education lessons at after‑school sites.
- Assist in developing lessons based on resources.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
