Program Instructor – Greater Philadelphia YMCA

Join the Greater Philadelphia YMCA as part‑time Program Instructor for our Watershed Education by Bike (WEB) program.

WEB is a groundbreaking after‑school program that teaches youth how to safely ride bicycles in urban, suburban, and trail environments while delivering watershed and environmental education. Instructors lead a 13‑student group of grades 5–8 on program‑owned bicycles throughout Camden and Burlington Counties and prepare and implement watershed lessons for K–8 students in a classroom setting.

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Available Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
• Experience or interest in physical activity and environmental education.
• Willing to travel throughout Camden City, Burlington County, and Camden County.
• Basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics and able to ride 8–12 mph.
• Strong classroom management, conflict resolution, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to complete tasks independently.

• Teach basic bicycle safety and maintenance.
• Teach watershed and environmental education through program curriculum.
• Establish relationships with local partners to support WEB.
• Facilitate environmental education lessons at after‑school sites.
• Assist in developing lessons based on resources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
