Quality Engineer – Level 2
Location:
Camden, NJ
Holtec International is seeking a detail‑oriented Level 2 Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance initiatives across multiple projects and departments. This role ensures compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable industry codes and regulations. The Level 2 Quality Engineer mentors junior staff and serves as a key liaison between engineering, production, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities- Lead development, tracking, and analysis of key quality metrics; present findings to senior management.
- Oversee calibration programs and ensure traceability of inspection and test equipment.
- Review purchase orders and material certifications for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, surveys, and surveillances.
- Review and approve quality records and documentation packages.
- Support nonconformance investigations and corrective/preventive action processes; lead complex investigations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process improvements and resolve systemic quality issues.
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Support regulatory and customer inspections; interface with external auditors.
- Perform oversight at vendor facilities and during construction activities.
- Prepare and review procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of quality assurance experience in the nuclear or manufacturing industry.
- In‑depth knowledge of ASME Section III & VIII, ISO 9001, NQA‑1, and 10
CFR
21. - Experience in corrective action processes.
- Demonstrated leadership in quality systems implementation and audit management.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
- In‑depth knowledge of NDE methods.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspection tools (e.g., CMM, FARO Arm).
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Prior experience leading teams or mentoring junior engineers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software; data analysis tools.
- Prior experience working in the nuclear industry.
$80,000 – $95,000 annually
