Join The Campbell’s Company to lead the safety and stability of shelf‑stable food products. This role oversees thermal process development, FDA/USDA regulatory compliance, and process authority across the organization.
Responsibilities- Review, approve, and file thermal process requirements with FDA as needed; set policies for food safety standards.
- Evaluate manufacturing process deviations, decide product release or destruction, balancing consumer safety with economic impact.
- Develop qualification criteria for new products and equipment; oversee critical control points.
- Manage thermal process analysis and automated systems, ensuring compliance with 21 CFR part 11.
- Provide technical leadership to Thermal Process Specialists, including mentorship and training.
- Support external manufacturing and co‑manufacturing initiatives through audits and approvals.
- Advise on emerging technologies and advanced thermal processing methods.
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field; 15+ years of relevant thermal processing experience.
- 5+ years in thermal processing of Campbell products or equivalent; extensive knowledge of microbiology, engineering principles, and thermal equipment.
- Demonstrated judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills; excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Experience with FDA/USDA regulations and 21 CFR part 11 data systems is required.
- Master’s or PhD is a plus; additional thermal processing experience is desirable.
Base salary range: $147,400–$211,900 (location dependent). Total pay may include additional compensation.
