Overview
Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for the Civil Engineer position in its Civil Design & Construction department within the Nuclear Power division. The department is responsible for civil engineering, design, and construction planning for all active and planned Spent Fuel Storage Installations at various Nuclear Power Plants across the United States and worldwide. The Civil Engineer prepares comprehensive construction drawings (site layouts, grading and drainage designs, reinforced concrete structural details), generates engineering calculation reports (concrete and utility design, geotechnical evaluations, slope stability, water resource analyses), and develops technical specifications and bid documents for large-scale heavy civil construction projects typically exceeding $10 million in budget.
The role may require occasional travel (approximately 20%) to job sites for short durations.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- 0-5 years of experience required, 5-10 years preferred; level of responsibility and salary will be commensurate with experience
- Familiarity with applicable civil codes and standards (e.g. ACI/ASTM/AASHTO)
- Familiarity with Auto Cad and similar Computer Drafting/Design Programs
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis
- Nuclear Industry Experience preferred, but not required
- BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS degrees given strong consideration)
- FE/EIT/PE Certification preferred but not required.
Compensation
Base pay range: $75,000/yr - $92,000/yr
