About The Opportunity
At Netrix Global, we’re seeking an IT Field Technician – Customer Engineering
, on‑site in Camden, New Jersey, for the Education Services team. This full‑time technical resource will work closely with clients and cross‑functional support teams to manage, support, and maintain the technology used by these customers.
You will be responsible for proactive and reactive support, troubleshooting, and documentation of new and existing customer environments. This role is ideal for a hands‑on, well‑rounded engineer who is comfortable with all aspects of IT field work. The position requires strong resource and time‑management skills, a self‑motivated and detail‑oriented attitude, excellent verbal and written communication, robust customer service skills, and solid problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
This person must have a reliable personal vehicle and be willing to travel to multiple sites near Camden, NJ.
How You Will Make an Impact- Serve as a technical escalation point for the onsite customer engineering team.
- Facilitate and assist in training for new engineers joining the team.
- Assist in rerouting staff to ensure adequate coverage as determined by the customer.
- Provide management updates and feedback on all relevant activities for the team.
- Support and troubleshoot common server roles, including file/print and application servers.
- Support and troubleshoot the on‑premise laptop environment, including workstation imaging and Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems.
- Support and troubleshoot modern networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless).
- Support and troubleshoot network environments with multiple connectivity setups and configurations.
- Support and troubleshoot multi‑site Domain and Active Directory environments.
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 email environments.
- Support and troubleshoot workstation hardware and software; proficient with laptop hardware parts replacement and repair.
- Support and troubleshoot workstation imaging processes.
- Gather and document complex technical information regarding new and existing customer environments.
- Implement and troubleshoot our standard management tools (Kaseya, Logic Monitor, antivirus) for servers, network devices, and workstations.
- Establish a partnership with customers, striving to deliver a positive experience and smooth transition—First Impressions = Lasting Impressions.
- Provide value by implementing solutions that help customers overcome challenges while creating efficiencies for their business operations.
- Work closely with customers on functional and end‑user acceptance testing.
- Record incident closures and daily time entries using Service Now ticketing system.
- Send daily end‑of‑day email to the client point of contact.
- Execute yearly projects when school is not in session (switch and access point replacements, school relocations, new school setups, mass laptop/Chromebook replacements).
- Keep abreast of the latest technology and industry trends, recommend equipment and system enhancements, upgrades or replacements as necessary to meet the IT needs of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of related hands‑on work experience with an Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- MS‑900 or equivalent and willingness to obtain the MS‑900 certification within 12 months of hire.
- Associate Google Workspace Administrator or equivalent experience and willingness to obtain the certification within 12 months of hire.
- Microsoft Certifications preferred but not required.
- Professional Networking Certifications preferred but not required.
- Apple computer hands‑on experience is a plus.
- Work experience must include user support and troubleshooting with experience in configuration and setup of systems and devices.
- Experience working directly with end‑users.
- Experience working in Service Now ticketing system is a plus.
- Proficient with laptop hardware parts replacement and repair.
- Proficient with Google Chromebook devices.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
