JURISolutions is seeking an experienced M&A Counsel to help lead all aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures for our client in the public utility sector. This role can be done remotely and is open-ended in regards to duration.

In this role, you will oversee legal due diligence, provide strategic counsel on new business opportunities, and manage the full legal lifecycle of complex transactions. You will work cross-functionally with Corporate Strategy and Business Development teams to support target evaluation, innovation initiatives, and competitor analysis. This position also involves leading a team of legal professionals within the Corporate Legal Business Development function, ensuring seamless execution of high-impact transactions while balancing legal risk with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of legal experience, with a strong preference for a mix of law firm and in-house roles, particularly within utility regulatory environments. Expertise in corporate and commercial law, M&A, governance, HR, and regulatory compliance is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are a must, along with the ability to manage sensitive information and lead cross-functional teams through complex legal processes.

A J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state are required. Some travel (up to 25%) is expected.
