Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night position requiring neuro experience and active NJ or compact licensure.
Responsibilities- Work in a PCU setting with a mix of medical-surgical and PCU level patients
- Patient ratio is typically 1:4 on PCU, but may be 1:5+ when floated and 1:6 on MS/tele
- Float required within five area hospitals based on staffing needs and census
- Will float to ICU for patients downgraded from critical care
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
- Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
- Telemetry monitoring is required on the unit
- Epic EMR experience is preferred
- Will be fit tested prior to working and must be clean shaven
- Block scheduling is not allowed
- Rotation to multiple hospital locations within the network is required as per need
- First-time travelers are accepted but not preferred
- Time off (RTO) must be declared at initial submission; no RTO granted during the first week
- Travelers with four days or less of RTO will receive priority
- Travelers cannot be submitted or hired as part of a pair and must accept contracts individually
- Interview availability for 3–5 days in a range is preferred to expedite consideration
- Active NJ or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum of 2 years recent PCU experience, with neuro experience required
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, ASLS, and NIHSS required
- Must pass a Dysrhythmia test on a PC within 72 hours, with only two attempts allowed
- Must complete all required labs within 48 hours of signing
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are required with no exemptions
