The Grounds Maintenance Lead at EMR plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our properties. This role is active, engaging, and heavily outdoors-focused. You’ll work in various weather conditions and often around equipment such as mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, and other landscaping machinery. Physical activity is required, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.,
and working in both high and low temperatures. Your work will involve using various tools, coordinating across multiple departments, and fostering positive interactions with diverse individuals daily.
This position also requires being cross‑trained in various tasks to support other functions across multiple sites, helping ensure overall operational success wherever needed.
What You’ll Do:- Lead, guide, and support the Grounds Maintenance team in daily tasks and assignments.
- Maintain all exterior grounds including mowing, trimming, edging, leaf removal, and seasonal clean‑ups.
- Oversee landscaping tasks such as planting, mulching, weeding, pruning, and general upkeep of green areas.
- Ensure walkways, parking lots, and common exterior areas remain clean, safe, and free of debris.
- Take a lead role in trash removal, cleanup of illegal dumping, and addressing unsightly or unsafe materials around the property.
- Safely remove or report hazardous materials including needles and other drug‑related items, following proper safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain all grounds equipment such as mowers, blowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and utility vehicles.
- Experienced in towing and maneuvering trailers safely and efficiently across various sites.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds, equipment, and outdoor areas to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Provide cross‑functional support to other teams (Maintenance, Custodial, Pressure Washing, Transportation, etc.) as needed.
- Assist with snow removal when required, including shoveling, salting, and using snow‑removal equipment.
- Support special projects, seasonal tasks, and setup for company events across multiple sites.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments throughout the day.
- Ensure all work is performed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with EMR’s operational and safety standards.
