• Prepares food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Reads food orders or receives verbal instructions to prepare and cook food accordingly.
• Follows recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items.
• Operates kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, and prepares fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
• Tastes products, checks menus, estimates food requirements, and maintains records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of workstation and equipment, adhering to regulatory rules and procedures.
• Follows HACCP policies and procedures.
• Uses proper portion control utensils to ensure correct food quantities.
• Maintains proper food temperatures during preparation and records temperatures as per policy.
• Reviews next day’s production needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent required.
