Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Full‑Time, Contract to Hire – 12 months – Camden, NJ (On‑site).

• Translate requirements into working and maintainable solutions.
• Apply technical proficiency across various stages of our SDLC, gathering requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and scope tasks.
• Act as a key Scrum team member, setting direction and strategy for product and infrastructure development.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert in embedded software application development, guiding and mentoring other engineers.
• Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions independently or within a multidisciplinary team.
• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop software for target hardware, and work closely with cross‑functional members to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software.
• Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware‑software integration, and formal testing.
• Develop software test plans, procedures, and relevant technical documentation.
• Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results; participate in peer reviews and defect remediation.
• Use C/C++ and Python to implement software for embedded real‑time operating systems.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing applications on simulated and target hardware.
• Experience with a Real‑Time Operating System (RTOS) such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or similar.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Object‑oriented design and implementation experience, with exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or Magic Draw/Cameo.
• Experience developing device drivers and board support packages for real‑time embedded systems; modern C++ techniques.
• Experience with information assurance and/or cryptography, including NSA Type 1 certification or other software certifications such as DO‑178.

• Pay Range: $90‑$110 per hour, based on education, experience, location, and duties.
