USCS is one of the largest providers of third-party logistics solutions in North America. The Center of Digital Excellence (CoDE) is the IT division responsible for the company's digital footprint, including custom software development, enterprise integrations, customer-facing applications, data platforms, automation solutions, and infrastructure services.

The Job Details:

As a third-party logistics provider, we are entrusted with managing and safeguarding our customers' inventory throughout the supply chain. Providing customers with timely access to information and self‑service capabilities is critical to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to help design, develop, deploy, and enhance the Web Portal, a modern customer‑facing platform that provides visibility into inventory, orders, reporting, and operational activities.

The portal is designed to deliver a modern user experience, leveraging natural language capabilities and contextualized content so customers can quickly find what they are looking for—or be informed of what they should know. It also forms the basis for the APIs and hooks that allow our customers' systems to integrate with ours.

In this role, you will develop web applications, APIs, integrations, and data‑driven solutions that support both customers and internal business operations. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, analysts, quality assurance professionals, and fellow engineers to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and user‑friendly solutions.

The portal is built with React and Next.js for the front end and Node.js (Express) and Java (Spring Boot) for backend REST APIs, with PostgreSQL and Snowflake data platforms, authentication through Next Auth.js, JWTs, and Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD), and automated testing and CI/CD delivery. Our engineers use AI development tools such as Git Hub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor as part of their everyday workflow.

Success in this role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, a customer‑focused mindset, and a willingness to learn the business processes that drive supply chain, warehousing, and logistics operations.

• Application Development - Design, develop, test, and maintain customer‑facing web applications and backend services that support business‑critical operations.
• API Development - Build and maintain REST APIs that enable communication between customer applications, internal systems, and external business partners.
• System Integration - Develop and support integration with enterprise applications, data platforms, and third‑party services to ensure reliable and efficient data exchange.
• Data Solutions - Design and optimize database queries, reporting functionality, and data‑driven features that help customers and business teams make informed decisions.
• Authentication and Security - Implement and support secure authentication, authorization, and access‑control solutions using Next Auth.js, JWTs, and Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD) to protect customer and company data.
