The Respiratory Therapist at MUSC Midlands provides advanced respiratory care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions.

• Perform a variety of respiratory therapy modalities to patients with cardiac and pulmonary dysfunction.
• Perform diagnostic tests and administer treatments.
• Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to patients of all ages.

• Graduation from a program approved by CoArc (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) or a successor accrediting authority and at least two years of experience in respiratory care.
• Licensed as a respiratory care practitioner by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations Board of Medical Examiners.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent).
