Provide quality customer service within the Deli Bakery Department, maintaining standards in accordance with the standard practice manual and maximizing sales through excellent customer service while minimizing shrink.

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness, emphasizing fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Follow all technical manuals for processing products and labeling.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise follows policies and guidelines.
• Maintain proper sanitation of department, equipment, and food handling/preparation.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practice.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
• Report all associate and customer accidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, while maintaining a neat and clean appearance per dress code.
• Successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Minimum age requirement to perform specific job functions.
• Physical ability to meet job requirements with or without accommodations.

• Use computers and other communication systems.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
• Bend and lift products up to 15 lb. continuously, 25 lb. frequently, and 50 lb. occasionally.
• Pull or push up to 75 lb. occasionally.
• Stand 100% of the time, frequently walking short distances.
• Handle cleaning and packaging materials.
• Reach and grasp at waist level, occasionally above shoulder or below waist.
• Meet volume activity standards.
• Tolerate extreme hot/cold temperatures up to 20 minutes.
