The Avionics Field Engineer 747-8 is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems on aircraft. This role ensures that all avionics equipment operates efficiently and complies with aviation regulations and standards.

• Installation:
  Install avionics systems and equipment, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Maintenance and Repair:
  Perform routine and preventive maintenance on avionics systems to ensure they are functioning correctly. Troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise.
• Testing:
  Conduct functional and operational tests of avionics systems using specialized test equipment to ensure proper performance and reliability.
• Documentation:
  Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Ensure all documentation complies with FAA regulations and company policies.
• Compliance:
  Ensure all work is performed in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Calibration:
  Calibrate avionics systems and equipment to ensure accurate performance.
• Upgrades:
  Perform software updates and hardware upgrades on avionics systems as required.
• Training:
  Stay current with new technologies and advancements in avionics systems. Participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
• Safety:
  Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the appropriate personnel.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, AET) are a plus.
• Experience:
  
  747-8I Minimum of 2 years of experience in avionics maintenance and repair.

• Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
• Strong understanding of electronic circuits and avionics systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Certifications:
  
  Relevant certifications in avionics maintenance are a plus.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
