As a Supervisory Asylum Officer (Branch Chief), you will oversee staff engaged in the administration of Immigration and Nationality laws pertinent to the Asylum Program, serve as a representative on asylum matters, and lead in the strategic mission of USCIS while ensuring integrity of our country.

This position is located within the Training Branch.

Asylum Headquarter's Training Branch delivers and coordinates training in support of the program's mission.

GS-15: You qualify at the GS‑15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS‑14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:

  • Assisting in the overall management, technical direction, or critical aspects of an immigration program;
  • Analyzing legislation and developing or implementing standards, guidance or procedures that impact critical aspects of an immigration program;
  • Evaluating organizational processes and making recommendations for process improvements to ensure the organization meets or exceeds its goals;
  • Briefing or providing guidance to senior management officials on matters impacting immigration program areas.
