The successful candidate will deliver essential addiction medicine services, focusing on assessment and treatment planning for clients with primary conditions beyond Substance Use Disorder. This role requires collaborating with nursing, mental health, and community resources while providing training to medical students. Your expertise will enhance patient care and discharge strategies within acute care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide addiction consultations for hospitalized clients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Initiate treatment including opioid agonist therapy
• Develop post-discharge plans with community resources
• Teach and train medical students and residents
Requirements:
• Full Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
• Recommended addiction medicine certifications
• Commitment to teaching in a clinical setting
• Experience in symptom management and assessment
• Availability for flexible hours, including weekends
