Position: Kwak'wala Language Instructor at North Island College
Enhance Indigenous language learning as a Kwak'wala Language Instructor with North Island College. This role focuses on teaching conversational skills through an engaging online format.

The instructor will deliver KWA 096, focusing on foundational Kwak’wala language skills, prioritizing listening, speaking, and cultural themes. You'll help students navigate greetings, daily activities, community values, and the Kwakwaka’wakw worldview, ensuring a well-rounded language acquisition experience. Through immersive learning, you will support students' connections with identity and culture while employing diverse instructional strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and plan engaging learning materials

• Teach in Liḱʷala with varied approaches

• Foster a supportive learning environment

• Engage students in cultural and language projects

• Maintain records of student progress and engagement

Requirements:

• Experience teaching Kwak’wala language

• Work with fluent speakers or Knowledge Keepers

• Background in Indigenous education preferred

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields

• Proficient in inclusive teaching practices
