Position: Temporary .226 FTE Grade 6/7 Teacher

Position

Grade 6/7 Teacher – temporary, 0.226 FTE, at Southgate Middle School. The teaching schedule is Wednesdays from September 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Term & Compensation

Term of Employment:
September 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

FTE: 0.226.

Salary: $60,015 to $109,520 (proportionate to FTE).

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Relevant university qualifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in BC Ministry of Education documents.
  • Commitment to the craft of teaching, best practices, and Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communicative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexible and adaptive; able to adjust to changing classroom and district needs.
  • Commitment to professional development and growth.
  • Inquiry‑based and collaborative approach to the delivery of the BC Curriculum.
  • Strong foundation in Social/Emotional Learning and in-depth knowledge of the BC Mental Health Framework.
  • Incorporation of the First People's Principles of Learning.
  • Dedication to valuing diversity, inclusion, and equity in all instructional practices.
  • Ability to support the growth and development of individual learners through differentiated learning techniques.
  • Collaborative teamwork with fellow teachers to plan, develop, and implement engaging learning experiences for each student.
