Behavioural Support Education Assistant Position

Take on a vital role as an Education Assistant (Intensive Behaviour) in School District 72 at Penfield Elementary. Focus on creating supportive learning environments for students with behavioural challenges.

As a permanent staff member, you will help integrate students with severe behavioural issues into classroom activities, ensuring their safety and educational development. You will collaborate with teachers and other professionals while employing successful behaviour management techniques and providing academic support tailored to diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students struggling with behavioural challenges

• Implement behaviour management and support strategies

• Collaborate with a team for effective learning interventions

• Ensure a positive classroom environment

• Participate in IEP meetings and adapt teaching methods accordingly

Requirements:

• Two-year post-secondary education in Educational Assistance or related area

• Experience with children who have special needs

• Familiarity with behaviour management practices

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all student matters

• Flexibility in adapting to student requirements
