Position: Education Assistant for Complex Needs
Support students with complex medical needs at School District 72 as an Education Assistant. This permanent role at Carihi Secondary School emphasizes collaboration and personal care requirements.

The role focuses on providing essential support for students reliant on assistance for daily living needs. Education Assistants will work under the Principal/Vice Principal's guidance, engaging in partnerships with health professionals and classroom teachers. You will ensure a safe and conducive learning environment while implementing behavioral management strategies tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care support for students' hygiene and mobility needs

• Assist with feeding and toileting for dependent students

• Collaborate with a transdisciplinary team on learning plans

• Implement recommendations from Occupational and Physiotherapists

• Support academic reinforcement with special needs students

Requirements:

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in relevant discipline

• Experience working with children with special educational needs

• Proficiency in required medical assistance procedures

• Certification in Crisis Prevention and First Aid

• Ability to build effective relationships within a team
