Civil Engineering Materials Testing Intern

Metro Testing + Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineering student to support concrete field testing and laboratory analysis. Develop valuable skills in materials testing while earning an hourly wage.

This internship offers an opportunity for students enrolled in a civil engineering program at a post-secondary institution. You’ll support testing of concrete prior to pours and ensure compliance with industry standards. With training provided, you’ll also interpret results and report findings while building relationships with site personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test concrete to ensure specifications are met

• Interpret test results and generate reports

• Build relationships with site personnel for collaboration

• Travel to job sites in Campbell River and nearby areas

Requirements:

• Enrolled in an engineering program at a post-secondary institution

• Interest in the construction materials testing field

• Valid driver's license with vehicle access

• Good command of the English language

• Ability to lift up to 23 kgs / 50 lbs
