Development Planner II

Position: Full-Time Development Planner II Role
Elevate community planning as a full-time Development Planner II with Strathcona Regional District in Campbell River, BC. Focus on development applications and long-range regulatory plans essential for sustainable growth.

Reporting to the Planning and Parks Manager, you will process zoning amendments, development permits, and subdivision applications. This role emphasizes preparing impactful reports for Board meetings and supporting the development of official community plans and policies, aligning with sustainability principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process development applications including zoning amendments

• Prepare reports for SRD Board and related committees

• Support regulatory and long-range planning initiatives

• Review sustainability practices and land use management frameworks

• Facilitate public processes and policy analysis

Requirements:

• University degree in planning or related field, 3 years' experience

• Diploma in planning and design, 6 years' experience alternative

• Eligibility for membership in BC Planning Institute or similar

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

• Familiarity with sustainability and regulatory frameworks
