Position: Visual Language Interpreter for Students
Make a difference as a Visual Language Interpreter with School District 72 in Campbell River. Enhance the educational experience for students who are deaf and hard of hearing through skilled ASL interpretation.

School District 72 is seeking a permanent Visual Language Interpreter to support diverse learners in inclusive settings. This role involves interpreting American Sign Language for students, teachers, and staff. Collaborating closely with educational teams, you will adapt your communication to meet student needs while following IEP goals. Join a passionate community focused on student-centered learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL to English interpretation for classroom activities

• Collaborate with support teachers and administration

• Participate in staff meetings as required

• Respect confidentiality of student information

• Undertake additional tasks assigned by leadership

Requirements:

• Two-year ASL Interpretation program completion

• One year of relevant experience preferred

• Fluency in ASL (Level 4 or higher)

• Membership with WAVLI or ability to obtain

• Clear Criminal Record Check required
