Broodstock Technician

Cermaq Seafood BC Ltd. is seeking to hire a dedicated full-time Broodstock Technician to join our Freshwater Team in Gold River. Reporting to the Brood and Egg Manager, the Broodstock Technician plays a key role in assisting with brood stock handling, spawning activities and egg collection to ensure the success of our production cycle.

• Provide onsite support during spawning season
• Follow standard operating Procedures (SOP’s) and direction from supervisors
• Assist with data collection and record keeping
• Support egg collection and disinfection process
• Fish handling and collecting samples for egg production
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools and equipment
• Support Freshwater Hatchery as needed

• Excellent communication skills
• Goal-oriented team player with the ability to meet deadlines
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands on tasks, including heavy lifting of fish
• Valid driver’s license required
• Related work experience considered an asset
