Become a key player at Cermaq Seafood BC as a full-time Freshwater Aquaculture Technician in Gold River, BC. Engage in vital aquaculture tasks and help manage the production of nutritious seafood.
In this permanent role reporting to the Assistant Hatchery Managers, you will conduct daily aquaculture operations, including egg and fish monitoring and maintenance. With opportunities for growth, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-evolving industry. The role requires physical fitness and readiness for on-call duties or night shifts as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and care for eggs, fish, and equipment daily
• Conduct water chemistry tests and habitat assessments
• Manage site inventory and perform various errands
• Assist with egg takes, vaccinations, and treatments
• Collect production data efficiently
Requirements:
• 3 years of relevant aquaculture experience preferred
• Aquaculture Certificate or science degree in related fields preferred
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and handle fish
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
