Youth Justice Worker

Become a pivotal support for at-risk youth at The John Howard Society of North Island in Campbell River. This role focuses on supervision, service coordination, and fostering community ties for youth and families.

As a Youth Justice Worker, you will assist young individuals referred by probation officers, helping them thrive in education, work, and family settings. Your responsibilities will include coordinating rehabilitative programs and monitoring compliance with community supervision terms. Being flexible to work evenings and weekends is essential in meeting client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed supervision support plans

• Monitor compliance with community supervision terms

• Provide court testimony as needed

• Support youth in rehabilitation and intervention programs

• Maintain contact with parents/caregivers for advice

Requirements:

• Two-year diploma in human/social services

• Two years experience with high-risk youth

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Knowledge of Youth Criminal Justice Act

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
