Shelter Resource Worker

Become a vital part of Lookout Housing and Health Society as a Shelter Resource Worker in Campbell River, BC. Support homeless adults through crisis, providing assistance and connecting them to essential resources.

As a Shelter Resource Worker, you will take charge of providing direct services in a 24/7 emergency shelter for homeless adults facing various challenges. Engage with guests during their intake process, ensuring their needs are met as you create a safe and supportive environment. Successful candidates must adhere to health and safety standards and will undergo required training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and assistance to homeless guests

• Conduct intakes and orientations for new arrivals

• Connect clients with community services and resources

• Maintain detailed records and statistics of services provided

• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 or related Certificate

• Two years of relevant experience preferred

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

• Crisis intervention training is an asset

• Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
