Child Protection Team Leader

Position: Usma Child Protection Team Leader Role
Lead the Child Protection Team at Usma Family and Child Services located in Campbell River, BC. This full-time position requires a seasoned professional to enhance collaborative practices critical for Nuu-chah-nulth families.

We are looking for a Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our Child Protection Team. This role focuses on providing mentorship and supervision to social workers while ensuring that families and Nations are actively engaged in the case planning process. The position also involves fostering community relationships and cultural support services, emphasizing professional, ethical, and culturally responsive social work practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor social work staff

• Ensure family and Nations' engagement in planning

• Develop partnerships with community organizations

• Assist in cultural planning support for children and families

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent

• Five years of supervisory experience in the field

• Hold C-6 Delegation and related child services experience

• Knowledge of Nuu-chah-nulth culture and relevant legislation

• Valid driver’s license and ability to provide references

Lead with compassion and expertise in child protection at Usma Family and Child Services.
