LGTC Group is hiring a Milieu Counselor for its Eating Disorder PHP/IOP program in Campbell, CA.
As a Milieu Counselor, you will support clients through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge, working daily with them to facilitate healing and behavior change.
Responsibilities- Contribute insightful and practical information to support clients’ behavior, mood, and healing.
- Role‑model appropriate and supportive behavior based on training and experience.
- Support clients in their journey to a healthier, more productive life.
- Act as a key member of the client’s support system, helping them make a powerful difference in their lives.
- Manage crisis situations such as emotional breakdowns.
- Create experiential activities (e.g., yoga, art, hobbies) to enhance the treatment program.
- Greet new clients and introduce them to the primary treatment team.
- Facilitate therapeutic meals and ensure clients engage in positive coping skills.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate dress, grooming, communication, and professional behavior.
- Provide day‑to‑day support by executing the treatment plan set by the therapist.
- Run therapeutic groups (education on coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, psycho‑education, life skills).
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and share vital client progress information.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and program‑related activities.
- Attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities.
- Support client and patient intake and registration processes.
- Assist the Program Director and Therapists as needed, including discharge transition.
- Pursue personal growth by pursuing educational plans and encouraging others.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university.
- One year of experience working with children, mental health, counseling, or the eating disorder field (preferred).
- Commitment to attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities.
