At Acton, we design, navigate, and build premium, high-quality accessory dwelling units (ADUs), also known as backyard homes or granny flats. The Role

This isn’t a “convince them to buy” kind of sales job. At Acton ADU, we use a qualification-driven sales process that helps homeowners move forward only when it’s truly in their best interest. We’re going to ask you to sell our way because our process works.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead with qualification to understand needs, pain, budget, and decision-making process. Then sell our solution - only when it’s clear there’s a strong mutual fit.
  • Learn and adopt a structured, proven sales system by following and completing our playbooks.
  • Guide prospects through the sale leading them step by step to a solution that meets their needs, parameters, and requirements.
  • Prospect consistently to supplement Marketing leads. Take accountability for your pipeline.
  • Drive collaboration with Project Management, Design, & Production - ensuring clean handoffs, key details are carried forward, and needed support is secured.
  • Be responsible for frequently communicating challenges and unique situations to the Head of Sales for coaching.
  • Represent Acton ADU with professionalism and integrity, helping homeowners feel confident in their decisions.

Requirements

  • Sales Skills
    • 2-5 years sales experience preferably in a construction-related sales role.
    • Evidence of building and nurturing customer relationships, closing deals, identifying pain points, discovering and managing customer budgets, and employing a consultative approach.
    • Proven ability to generate your own leads and an understanding that the best leads often come from self-sourcing.
  • Personality Traits
    • Self-starter and driven to exceed quotas and expectations.
    • Innate curiosity that leads to better questions, deeper understanding, and smarter qualification.
    • Grit and resilience to stay driven in a competitive sales environment and proactively seek support to succeed.
    • Strong conviction to tell a prospect when it’s not a fit.
    • Adaptability to thrive in a growing company that is continuously improving processes and infrastructure.
    • Commitment to long-term career growth with a track record of staying with previous employers for several years.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Self-assured and composed in conversations, knowing when to pause, when to probe, and when to challenge a prospect directly.
    • Skilled at asking the right questions to gain a deep understanding of customer needs.
