This position coordinates daily field operations, monitors crew performance, and serves as a liaison between field teams, project management, and clients. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and effective communication to ensure construction plans are executed effectively and efficiently.

DescriptionThe position requires travel between project sites, including potential assignments in Wisconsin on a rotating schedule (approximately 2 weeks on, 3 days off). Preference will be given to candidates based in eastern Ohio (Canton, Akron, and surrounding areas).
- Supervise in-house and subcontractor crews to deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget
- Ensure teams have necessary safety gear, tools, and equipment and adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and construction best practices
- Coordinate with Project Manager and field staff to plan schedules, identify obstacles, and resolve issues
- Assign and balance workloads across crews to optimize resource utilization
- Assist with personnel management and supervisory practices;
Monitor daily performance, track production, and provide coaching and feedback - Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications to guide field execution
- Manage and oversee white lining, stationing, and locate ticket processes
- Ensure proper traffic control measures are implemented and maintained throughout the project
- Participate in project kick-off meetings, construction meetings, and internal planning sessions
- Maintain a regular on-site presence during active work hours to oversee execution and provide hands-on support
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers
- Attends customer site walks, progress meetings, and project updates
- Provides feedback to Project Managers regarding design, scope changes, and performance
- Use digital platforms for reporting, mapping, and production documentation
- Submit accurate and timely labor, material, and safety data
- Generate reports and provide feedback based on field observations and industry standards
- Support customer service needs by responding to inquiries and ensuring satisfaction with field performance
- Travel to project sites in other states as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or advanced training in construction or engineering preferred
- 4+ years of experience managing projects in telecom or utility construction with proven supervisory responsibilities
- Foundational understanding of FTTH/aerial/underground construction practices
- Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; CDL preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required
- Ability to build professional relationships and represent the company effectively to clients
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive teamwork environment and motivate a diverse technical and operations group
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and demonstrated ability to grow into a leadership position
- Ability to effectively use Mac laptops and iPhones as primary work tools; familiarity with macOS and iOS productivity features
- Basic proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn construction management software
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on active construction sites
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged periods of driving, walking, standing, bending, and using hands/tools
- Must wear required PPE on job sites and adhere to safety protocols
