In this role, positioned under the Chief Engineer, the 2nd Class Marine Engineer plays a vital role in managing the vessel's propulsion and auxiliary systems. Candidates should have strong troubleshooting abilities and be committed to maintaining operational compliance with Transport Canada regulations and ISM Code. This position offers a pathway to professional growth within a team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining propulsion and machinery systems
• Stand engineering watches following company procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
• Perform preventative maintenance through planned maintenance system
• Maintain accurate engineering logs and documentation
Requirements:
• Transport Canada Second Class Motor Certificate
• Valid Marine Emergency Duties certification
• PSM certification or ability to obtain
• WHMIS certification
• Eligible for required company training
