We proudly own and operate 500+ outpatient clinics across the United States, offering Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, Physical Therapy and Advanced Specialist services. The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x‑ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician, and supports other facility areas such as registration and referral management.
This position requires efficient and accurate delivery of one‑on‑one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures; escort to dressing and x‑ray rooms, provide verbal/written instructions, assist positioning, and observe to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjust controls to set exposure time and distance per examination specifications, and take x‑rays following established requirements.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
- Maintain radiologic equipment in working order; report malfunctions to the Center Operations Director.
- Follow all radiology workflows and ensure radiology reports are transferred correctly to EMR, completing required documentation for each x‑ray visit.
- Maintain all x‑ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping in accordance with policy.
- Perform Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- Prepare patients for physical examinations: vital signs, ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, respirator fit testing).
- Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
- Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
- Perform routine medical procedures ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients as needed.
- Assist clinicians with procedure setup and injury care; apply bandages, dressings, and splints.
- Dispense medications and durable medical equipment per state regulations.
- Complete QA activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center.
- Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
- Operate and maintain all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
- Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is malfunctioning or supplies are insufficient.
- Help with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership.
- Inform patients of expected wait times throughout the visit.
- Perform clerical tasks in front and back office associated with patient care and record keeping.
- Ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Perform front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check‑in/out, communicate wait times, operate multi‑line telephone system, distribute results/paperwork.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
- Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required.
- Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
- Complete any applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Completion of state‑approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license by the state of employment, if applicable.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Customarily at least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of procedures and terminology.
- Customarily at least six months of demonstrated x‑ray experience and familiarity with routine medical procedures.
- Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred, with prior medical office, healthcare and/or customer service experience.
