Reporting to the Yard Manager
, the Yard Shipper / Receiver is responsible for efficiently, effectively, and accurately receiving products into the designated UFA location; placing them in appropriate storage locations; picking, packing, and shipping them for outbound orders to all customers. The role must assist in all other required functions and adhere to all UFA customer service standards, ensuring members/customers are promptly and efficiently served, inventory is accurately handled, and equipment is maintained.
- Participate in all aspects of the shipping/receiving/inventory functions, accountable for accurate daily completion of all receiving, shipping, inventory control and administrative / IFS requirements; ensure excellent service is provided to all customers.
- Perform maintenance on inventory or cycle counts, as directed.
- Operate all materials handling equipment and assist in forklift and equipment maintenance.
- Load and unload trucks, following UFA loading and unloading procedures to ensure products are safely secured.
- Conduct location inventory in a prescribed manner and maintain yard and warehouse appearance as mandated by UFA safety regulations and operational standards.
- Own the designated aisle area of the yard to consistently maintain merchandising and inventory standards.
- Make deliveries when required.
- Grade 12 diploma with 1‑2 years of related experience, or equivalent, may be 3‑5 years related experience without grade 12 diploma.
- Warehouse/Yard and forklift experience.
- Capable of physical labour and able to lift up to 25 kg.
- Basic computer proficiency; may be cross‑trained on POS system. Previous cash handling experience is an asset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must maintain all required certifications, including WHMIS and TDG.
- Flexible to accommodate shift work.
Is a safety sensitive position, as the role will be on site at UFA facilities and will operate UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant must pass a negative drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
