Regulatory Compliance Specialist, HR Manager, HR Generalist / Talent Management
An onsite Employee Relations Manager opportunity is available for a 4-month contract in Canaan, Connecticut, with the potential for a permanent position. Reporting to the Associate Director, Employee Relations, this role is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to managers, HR business partners, and associates on a range of employee relations and management issues.
The Employee Relations Manager will work collaboratively with senior leaders and HR teams, offering day-to-day coaching and support. Key responsibilities include reviewing corrective actions, performance management, and termination documentation, as well as conducting internal investigations and documenting findings. The role involves identifying and analyzing legal and compliance risks, partnering with legal and accommodation teams on complex issues such as terminations, investigations, and ADA accommodations, and staying current with employment laws and best practices.
Additional duties include supporting the annual performance review process, developing and deploying training programs in collaboration with the Global Learning team, and tracking employee relations trends to proactively address issues. The Employee Relations Manager will also lead or participate in projects and initiatives aimed at promoting continuous improvement and best practices within the team.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree (preferred in management, HR, or psychology) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of six years of direct employee relations experience, including managing complex and sensitive employment-related cases, is required. Strong knowledge of US employment law (ADA, FLSA, DOL Title VII, FMLA, USSERA), excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, and a high standard of professionalism and integrity are essential for success in this role.
Experience supporting senior leadership and providing strategic guidance on employee relations issues is also required.
