Coach associates on continuous improvement, safety, quality, production, cost, housekeeping and overall policy adherence. Ensure compliance with BD quality systems and all applicable regulations while driving production performance to meet goals and schedules.

Summary

Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations on the assigned shift. Accountable for all production‑related activity—safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction, operator training, and equipment maintenance. Plan and execute continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer requirements, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the applicable Business Manufacturing Leader.
  • Provides leadership to production operations.
  • Full‑time presence on the production floor.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, production and continuous improvement requirements.
  • Works with other Supervisors to drive overall plant performance.
  • Provides leadership and training for associates on the production floor.
  • Drives key metrics: safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
  • Measures and communicates performance to department leadership.
  • Provides leadership in a team environment.
  • Provides direction to all operators and manages daily operations to meet established targets.
  • Monitors production machinery to ensure top performance.
  • Ensures product quality through timely action plans to address deficiencies.
  • Ensures accurate and timely SAP & MES transactions by supervising inventories and addressing discrepancies.
  • Drives problem resolution and serves as key contact with outside resources to ensure success.
  • Ensures associates are trained and follow all safety, quality, and operation procedures.
  • Builds and develops teamwork to create a unified organization.
  • Assists engineers/technicians with project work as needed.
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts using CI practices (KAS, Blitzes) and standard work practices.
  • Provides 360‑degree feedback on associates to drive performance and accountability.
  • Coordinates coverage for vacation, absenteeism, and overtime.
  • Supports other areas and operations as needed.
  • Substitutes for associates to provide coverage for meetings or unplanned absences.
  • Verifies that equipment‑surrounding areas are clean during the shift.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision‑making ability required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills—Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor employees at all levels.
  • Ability to establish and promote a culture of safe, compliant, and high‑quality operations.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP, ISO, OSHA, and other applicable regulations required.
