A-Line Staffing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator (Distribution Center).
This role offers career growth, a supportive work environment, and full-time hours (40+ per week).
Location:
Canaan, CT 06018 - 100% on-site
Payrate: $23.00/hr
Required Availability:
Full-Time | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts) Rotating schedule (includes weekends)
The Forklift Operator (Distribution Center) is responsible for the safe, accurate movement of palletized product throughout the warehouse, including unloading, put-away, replenishment, and loading. This role uses an RF scanner and warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory and maintain product integrity while following all site safety procedures. This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs.

- Transport palletized product within the distribution center (unload, put-away/double-deep, bulk and full pallet pick, load, replenishment)
- Operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, and dock stocker
- Use RF scanner and WMS to ensure inventory accuracy and track product movement
- Ensure product integrity and handle freight safely to prevent damage
- Follow site safety procedures and required PPE guidelines
- Cross-train in other warehouse functions and provide backup support as needed
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED (verifiable) - Attendance:
Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days. - 1+ year of relevant warehouse/forklift experience
- Intermediate experience operating either high reach or counterbalance equipment
- Ability to obtain forklift certification (site requirement)
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents in English
- Comfortable using RF scanners and basic computer/WMS systems (Manhattan WMS experience a plus)
- Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
