Embark on a rewarding 15-month contract as a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting with Vaco/Highspring in Calgary. Contribute to full month-end cycles, financial reporting, and stakeholder support for optimal outcomes.

In this senior role, you will manage the complete month-end accounting process, prepare accurate financial results, and conduct variance analyses. Collaboration is key as you’ll liaise with internal and external audit teams while adhering to accounting standards and corporate policies. Your expertise will be vital in budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete full month-end accounting cycle diligently

• Prepare management reporting packages accurately

• Analyze transaction activities for discrepancies

• Provide financial reporting and analysis support

• Maintain audit-ready working papers and documentation

Requirements:

• Over 5 years of accounting experience required

• Minimum 2 years of industry accounting experience

• CPA designation or equivalent is mandatory

• Strong proficiency with Excel and Oracle desired

• Industry experience in energy retail is advantageous
