2nd or 3rd Yr Automotive Apprentice ut the role  At 401auto, we are seeking a motivated and skilled 2nd or 3rd Year Automotive Apprentice to join our dynamic team in Sudbury, Ontario. What you'll do   Assist certified automotive technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections under the guidance of experienced staff.
Learn to utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues effectively.
Participate in the disassembly and reassembly of vehicle components, gaining hands‑on experience with various automotive systems.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Document repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles, ensuring accurate records are kept for customer reference.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and services, contributing to overall shop efficiency.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your automotive knowledge and skills, staying updated on industry trends and technologies.
Requirements   Currently enrolled in or completed a recognized automotive apprenticeship program, with 2nd or 3rd year status.
Basic knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures, with a strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment commonly found in automotive repair shops.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, allowing for the operation of customer vehicles as needed.
Nice to have   Previous experience in an automotive repair shop or related environment is an asset.
Familiarity with specific automotive brands or models, particularly those serviced by 401auto.
Certification in automotive service excellence (ASE) or equivalent is a plus.
Basic computer skills for documenting repairs and accessing technical information.
A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
Skills & tools   Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and other electronic testing devices.
Knowledge of automotive repair software and systems for tracking repairs and customer interactions.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in automotive technology.
Practical notes   This position is based in Sudbury, Ontario, and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
The role may involve physical labor, including lifting heavy parts and standing for extended periods.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada, with preference given to those who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
