EO-NO-Flagger​/Labourer

Position: EO-NO-218 Flagger/Labourer 2 positions
Location: Nipissing North (Callander)

Pickerel Contracting Ltd. is currently seeking a Labourer/Flagger to join our team. You will report to the foreman/manager; duties include traffic control and safety procedures. To be successful in this role, you should be knowledgeable of construction, safety regulations, willing to learn on the job, able to work in varied weather, and have exceptional communication, teamwork, time management, and problem‑solving skills.

Main Responsibilities

Assist with set up and take down of construction sites (signs, cones, barricades, etc.)

Communicate effectively with crew members, site supervisors and the public.

Operate 2‑way radio and other communication equipment.

Direct and control traffic safely around construction sites using flags, signs and hand signals.

Record keeping: pre/post trips on vehicles, logbook (report to supervisor tag outs), load tickets, fuel receipts, timecards, etc.

Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Be environmentally conscious and follow guidelines.

Respect and respond to direction given by Supervisor, Managers, Board of Directors and Chief and Council.

Qualifications

Valid G driver’s license; vehicle an asset.

A clean driving abstract.

Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.

Able to lift 50 lbs, stand/sit/crouch for long periods.

Current First Aid and CPR Level

C.

Traffic Control Certification an asset but will train.

Previous experience preferred.

Professional attitude and strong work ethic.

Must be able to work as a team and individually, self‑directed.

High school diploma or GED.
