Location: Cariboo and West Okanagan (100 Mile House)
Elevate community news as a full-time Multimedia Journalist with Black Press Media in 100 Mile House, British Columbia. Drive audience engagement through compelling digital storytelling and multimedia content.
In this role, you will join BC's largest multimedia reporting team focused on local news delivery across various platforms. Candidates must showcase exceptional writing and multimedia skills to cover events and breaking news stories while also engaging audiences using effective SEO strategies. Collaborate with a strong editorial hub that covers 16 publications in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate engaging content for online and print media
• Collaborate on breaking news coverage and community stories
• Enhance audience engagement through multimedia strategies
• Utilize skills in video shooting and editing for storytelling
• Contribute innovative ideas while meeting deadlines
Requirements:
• Must hold a journalism degree or diploma
• Proven experience in multimedia journalism preferred
• Knowledge of iMovie and Canadian Press standards
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle necessary
• Ability to multitask in a digital and print environment
