Overview

Our client, a Top 5 Canadian Bank
, is looking to hire a Professional - Content Editor - Expert for a 6-month contract (with potential extension or conversion to FTE). This is a hybrid position based in Toronto, with in-office work required every Wednesday and the third Friday of each month
.

Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and proofread digital content for public-facing channels (Bank, Simplii Financial, Client Bank USA, affiliates).
  • Ensure content meets brand standards, voice/tone, accessibility requirements, and plain language principles.
  • Apply SEO best practices to increase visibility, engagement, and client conversion.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product owners, marketing, regulatory, and legal teams to deliver clear and compliant content.
  • Manage the editorial process from strategy and research to CMS authoring, reviews, approvals, and version control.
  • Support content strategy tasks, including competitive research, usability copy, and content inventories.
  • Contribute to style guide updates, inclusive writing practices, and accessibility improvements.
  • Provide training and onboarding support for editorial workflow and CMS authoring as needed.
Must-Have Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in content editing, UX writing, or digital content design.
  • Strong working knowledge of CP Style.
  • Experience writing for web/digital platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Technical Writing, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong command of the English language with excellent attention to detail.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Previous banking/financial services experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0), inclusive writing, and content strategy principles.
  • Knowledge of SEO, plain language best practices, and UX collaboration.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar workflow tools.
