Responsibilities

Working at the Napierville Post Office
, your day-to-day responsibilities will span customer service, mail operations, and basic administrative tasks. Each of these duties contributes directly to keeping the community connected and ensuring postal services are delivered with accuracy and care.

  • Sell postal products and services to both the general public and local business clients
  • Sort, distribute, and process mail into the appropriate classifications efficiently
  • Provide customers with accurate information, forms, and guidance on postal services
  • Resolve delivery and service difficulties thoroughly and in a timely manner
  • Handle cash transactions and general post office accounting tasks accurately
  • Maintain a welcoming, customer-focused environment at the service counter
Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this Post Office Assistant role is someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail or service setting
, is comfortable with the public, and can physically manage the demands of the position. Canada Post is particularly seeking someone who lives within the Napierville community or nearby, and who can meet the bilingual language requirements for this location.

  • High school diploma or provincial equivalency, and/or experience in business administration
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash handling
  • Understanding of general or post office accounting systems is an asset
  • Physical fitness to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods
  • Bilingual (English/French) at the BB level as per the Bilingual Imperative requirement
  • Schedule flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work as needed

High school or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration; training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
