The community of Bella Bella is seeking Locum Family Physicians with Emergency experience to join their healthcare team, providing comprehensive services to its residents. Specific dates will be provided upon inquiry. The hospital offers integrated clinic, hospital, and pharmacy services within a single facility, serving a predominantly Heiltsuk Nation community of approximately 2,000 people. Primary healthcare is provided through Vancouver Coastal Health’s Heiltsuk Hospital and Bella Bella Medical Clinic.

The facility features acute, residential, and emergency care, with diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, and visiting ultrasound services. The ER operates 24/7. Call schedule is 1-in-3 or 1-in-4 split shifts (11/13-hour shifts during the week, 24-hour shifts on weekends/holidays, no patients booked after a night on call).
Bella Bella is a distinct island community located off the central coast of British Columbia, about 480 kilometers northwest of Vancouver. The hospital serves as a central hub for community life with opportunities for outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, and eco-tours. Potential wildlife sightings include humpback whales, orcas, and sea lions.
Applicants will require ACLS, ATLS and PALS certification to work in Emergency. If any certifications have expired, CARE certification can replace the expired certifications. Please upload your current CV and any supplemental documentation (if applicable).

Qualifications   Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full
Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP)
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Emergency Experience
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
If any certifications have expired, CARE certification can replace the expired certification.
Benefits   MOCAP on-call compensation; average 13 or 14 call shifts
REEF ER incentive: $400 per 24-hour shift or $200 per 12-hour shift
