Position Profile
Examining the role, the key responsibilities revolve around providing general anatomic pathology services including regular surgical and cytopathology service work, frozen section coverage, tumour board participation, occasional autopsies, and on‑call coverage. Subspecialty training in hematopathology is considered an asset.
Department and Program OverviewThe HRH Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is supported by a team of ten full‑time pathologists, including anatomical pathologists with some hematopathology expertise, a microbiologist, and a biochemist. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually, delivering comprehensive diagnostic services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Qualifications, Skills and AttributesIn addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, the successful candidate must be a Royal College Fellow with specialty certification in Pathology and a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
