CASUAL Classroom Aide

Location: Fort St. James

Job Summary

Specific Duties
• Obtaining necessary materials as required for class use;

• Assisting the instructor with preparation for the course;

• Organizing of classroom facilities and class activities;

• Assist the instructor with testing and recordkeeping;

• Under the direction of the instructor, individual tutoring of students and instruction of particular segments of the course may also be required.

• Being part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities;

• Promoting a positive work atmosphere and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues;

• Other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
• Must be familiar with the content in applicable program;

• strong English skills;

• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal;

• Display strong interpersonal skills;

• Understanding of Aboriginal culture, communities, and language;

• Secondary school certificate is required, post secondary education is desirable.
