Help enhance academic skills as a youth tutor at the Wellington County Learning Centre in Arthur, Ontario. This volunteer role focuses on providing tutoring in math and reading, making learning fun.
Tutors meet students once or twice a week for one-hour sessions, utilizing game-based learning materials designed to capture children's attention. Interested adults and high-school students can start anytime, committing to at least six weeks. The centre supports tutors with resources and training.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual or group tutoring sessions
• Utilize game-based learning techniques to engage students
• Maintain a commitment of at least six weeks
• Participate in training hosted by the Wellington County Learning Centre
• Encourage enthusiasm for academics among youth
Requirements:
• Vulnerable Sector Check required for those over 18
• Strong interest in education and mentoring youth
• Experience with game-based learning preferred
• Flexibility in scheduling tutoring sessions
